In May of 2020, I created this Skyline LED Neon-ish Luminary for OTO's new Hyatt Place in National Harbor. Just across from our Nation's Capitol nestled in a quaint waterfront bevy is a community of shops and residential living in harmony. This area is a perfect perch for the newest Hyatt Place in Maryland. There are new heights on which to view DC from across the Potomac at Hyatt Place National Harbor and I am honored to have been a part of bringing the new aesthetic of the Hotel to fruition. As you enter the hotel from 123 Waterfront St. in Oxon Hill, MD, you will be greeted with my LED Fixture. I cannot take credit for the design but the construction of the piece is my own. The entire frame is hand crafted aside from the flexible LED spline from Diode LED. Let me know if you have a chance to visit this area and enjoy the comforts of this property.

“Now that’s the cup of a Carpenter”
Notes from the artist: This is a digital sketch with plans for a larger application in digital print or AR. The concept in this illustration is entangled with religious symbolism and the pattern is relevant to my opinions on theoretical physics’ multi-verse concept. Some questions come to mind for me when considering this work; 1. What is Earth’s religious history in other dimensions (if of course there is an Earth at all)? 2. Do Judeo Christian beliefs have as much territory in other worlds? 3. If not... what other religion is most common? 4. Is there a parallel to our history or is there simply another manifestation entirely? I have mixed in Greco-Roman symbols and 20th Century Literary reference imagery of vampires and dragons. The vampirism could also be attributed to satan’s serpent form in Genesis. The cloaked and bleeding hand could be seen as the Savior or simply an ordained personality postering as a martyr. My general beliefs are to always question and challenge authority. This condition makes me weary of “organized” religious events or groups. Personally, I believe the positive congregating of any group can have major positive affects on a community. If the god is peaceful so will be the followers, right? My eternal life in heavenly peace is not disturbed because someone else does not believe what I believe. Art for Artist
Where are we? Are we still in Post-Modernism? Or maybe we are Interim-Populism? We ignore the derivative incantations of contemporaries and revel in narcissistic social media outlets at nauseam.
Any thoughts? Post in comments. Mission of sanityCreating perfection out of natural chaos is not healthy for forming basic sanity. Chaos is inherently imperfect and obtaining anything resembling order in the midst of chaps is a success. Revel in the thought that you are able to make it through the day as turmoil surrounds your neighbors and you lay in bed unscathed.
